FERPA & COPPA Statement

Last updated: May 2026

Summary

WheelWISE does not collect personally identifiable student data. Districts retain all student records. The Facilitator Hub stores only de-identified, aggregate completion data at the program level.

Student records remain with the district

WheelWISE operates as an education program, not a student data platform. We do not access, collect, store, or process student education records as defined under FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act). All student records — including attendance, assessment scores, and participation data — are maintained solely by the school or district.

The WheelWISE Facilitator Hub may store aggregate, de-identified completion data (e.g., number of students who completed a session cohort). This data is stored at the program level and cannot be used to identify individual students.

Under-13 data handling

WheelWISE programs serve grades 6–8, which includes students who may be under 13. We do not collect personal information from students under 13 through this website or the Facilitator Hub. Facilitating organizations (schools, districts, public safety agencies) are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental consent for student participation in WheelWISE programs in accordance with COPPA and applicable state law.
